SUMMER TERM FOCUS GROUPS 

Bedford Borough Parent Carer Forum in co-production with Bedford Borough Council and Partners hosts focus groups to help improve outcomes for SEND families.

 

To participate in any one of the focus groups, the following must apply.

  • You must live in Bedford Borough or use Bedford Borough Services including schools and Health.

  • You must currently be experiencing or using the services stated in the focus group.

  • You must be a Bedford Borough Parent Carer Forum (BBPCF) member. (visit our contact page to register

STRONGER BEGINNINGS DROP-IN SESSIONS

At the Child Development Centre (CDC) in Kempston, Teacch Room.

These are drop-in sessions hosted by Bedford Borough Parent Carer Forum which aim to strongly signpost families that are just starting in the complex world of SEND or those who have some concerns about their child's development. You can expect a lot of resources, a hot spot to research anything and some SEND practitioners to help answer any questions you have. There’s no need to book.

We will have practitioners from the CAMHS service to update parent carers and be available for questions afterwards.

Social Care Information Session

At the Child Development Centre In Kempston (Teacch Room)

The Social Care team will be sharing updates regarding short breaks, direct payments and more information about social care services in Bedford Borough. There’s no need to book but, to ensure that we have an idea of attendees, please contact us via email to register your interest.

 

Family Participation Events

These events are supported by the local Authority and provide additional opportunities for SEND families to enjoy together. To attend you must be a SEND family living in Bedford Borough or receiving services from Bedford Borough.

Saturday 27th July -10:00 am- 2:00 pm

Herring Green Farm

In collaboration with Bedford Borough Council, we are hosting a family participation event for all of our cohort of SEND 0-25 year old members at Herring Green Activity Farm and Birds of Prey. This visit includes Meet the Owls, Feed the farm animals, Watch a flying display, have a go at flying an owl, meet some smaller animals and critters.

Picnic in the Park at Russel Park.

Activities include; Face painting, balloons, tattoos, and more. Book via our Eventbrite page and bring a picnic.
