ADHD Wise six-week course (Online)

Thursdays 7-9 pm 

Sessions will cover aspects of ADHD such as medication, sleep disturbances & and linked conditions such as Anxiety, Autism, ODD (oppositional defiance disorder), Autistic spectrum, etc. We help people understand the additional struggles that come from raising a child with ADHD and discuss strategies on how you might support them without burning yourself out.

Stronger Beginnings and Cookie Decoration Session.

These are drop-in sessions for those families that have just started investigating whether their child has additional needs. These sessions take place every second Friday of the month. For this particular session, we will also be hosting a cookie decoration event so please use the link below to book. Because this session is during the holiday, siblings are welcome to attend and participate as a family. Kindly ensure that you register each family member when you book.

Dyslexia Awareness Workshop (Online)

This workshop will cover what is dyslexia, strategies to use at home, and how to work with the school to achieve positive outcomes.

This workshop is run by Cerebra which is a charity dedicated to helping families with children with brain conditions discover a better life together. This training covers the law on Special Education Needs and Disabilities (SEND). Limited spaces are available so please ensure you book early.

These ten-minute bookable slots provided parent carers with an opportunity to meet with professionals and service providers to discuss their cases. You must email to book.

Transitions Information Session (Not Bookable)

At Project 229 In Kempston

Please note that for this specific session, there's no need to book. We have invited practitioners from various areas to speak to you about transitions and what they entail. There will be time for a Q&A session afterward so please come prepared.

We will have professionals from all areas including; the Early Years Team, Adult services, School Transitions, Health Transitions, and Health.

STRONGER BEGINNINGS DROP-IN SESSIONS

At the Child Development Centre (CDC) in Kempston, 10:00 am -12:00 pm

These are drop-in sessions hosted by Bedford Borough Parent Carer Forum which aim to strongly signpost families that are just starting in the complex world of SEND or those who have some concerns about their child's development. You can expect a lot of resources, a hot spot to research anything and some SEND practitioners to help answer any questions you have. There’s no need to book.
